emerging artists to exhibit; offer art as a catalyst for bringing the people of the community together; and allowing sales opportunities for artists.
The gallery has good marks for these goals. The reception for each of the Invitational’s have drawn 200 or more guests, which is certainly bringing the people of the community
together; each exhibit includes both seasoned and new (to the world of exhibits) artists; and sales have been brisk. Twenty five pieces have been sold for more than $9,500.00.
“This represents a significant boost for fine art in the community,” says Bagley. “The collective quality and diversity of the work presented by the twenty exhibiting artists is absolutely outstanding,” Bagley continues. “Local artist Denise Rich is showing how well she does her favorite subject . . . Cows. Visit the reception and take a look.
Gloria Chadwick is a signature member of Artists for Conservation and donates a portion of her art sales to that organization. Gloria won the Starbuck's/San Diego Zoo Art
Contest producing a flamingo tumbler and debit card that generated funds for the Zoological Society and is today one of the most popular Starbuck's collector cards. Visit the gallery and see Gloria’s work.”
Cindy Hedgecock is showing six photographs representing her work, and one of them sold on the second day of the exhibit. Cindy has replaced the work for the benefit of future guests. Also featured in this exhibit are five artists from St Madeleine Sophie’s Center, Sophie’s Gallery, a local organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities.
The participating artists will host an artist’s reception on Wednesday, August 27th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in the St. Clair Gallery located on the second floor of the East County
Business Center at 270 East Douglas Avenue in El Cajon. The artists look forward to being able to meet guests and talk about their work.
