Holiday Invitational Art

Exhibit Prospectus

Exhibit Dates: November 12, 2008 through January 9, 2009.

Exhibiting is by invitation only. All artists and photographers

who have previously exhibited at the St. Clair Gallery are

invited to exhibit. Three (3) pieces of art form each artist are

requested for wall hanging and an additional small piece

(maximum size 5” by 7”) for display and sale on the Christmas

tree.

A reception, hosted by the artists, will be held on

Tuesday, December 9th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The reception

concentrates on getting family, friends, clients and potential

buyers to view the art. A primary objective of the exhibit is

selling art and having great Holiday fun.

Marketing Plan:

East County Business Center -

St. Clair Gallery

Invite local business to the artist’s reception.

Encourage clients to attend the artist’s reception.

Announce the show and reception on the ECBC web site.

Submit press releases to the local print and broadcast media.

Promote the exhibit at all activities in the ECBC including

seminars, meetings and outreach programs.

Work through the El Cajon Community Development Corporation Art, Design and Heritage Committee to enlist local

support.

Contributing Artists -

Submit quality, well framed and presented, artwork for the

show.

Encourage people to visit the gallery during the exhibit.

Invite friends, etc. to attend the artists’ reception.

Invite members of art organizations to attend the artist’s

reception.

Make a concerted effort to invite potential buyers to the

artist’s reception.

Announce the exhibit and reception on your personal web

site, if possible.

Attend the artist’s reception and host your work.

Each artist will receive 40 announcement postcards representing a sampling of the art from previous exhibits to assist in inviting guests to the reception. The success of the exhibit depends on getting 300 or more people at the reception to create a fun filled, party atmosphere. The Gallery Director

will assist artists with the task of identifying and inviting

potential buyers.

General Information:

All art is to be suitable for family viewing; the gallery is in a

business center. Art is to be delivered ready to hang on a

wire. The maximum size is 54 inches on any side. Please do

not deliver heavy pieces. Each artist will sign an Exhibit

Agreement which established the commission on sales of

20% to the ECBC; contains a waiver of responsibility for the

ECBC and the St. Clair Gallery; and allows sold pieces to be

replaced by the artist as soon as possible.

The Gallery Director will need three volunteers to help hang

the exhibit on November 11th, 10 am to 2 pm. The St Clair Gallery will accept payment for art that is sold by credit card or cash, and the artwork will be delivered to the buyer. The funds will be turned over to the artist. For payment by check, the check must be made payable to the artist, who will decide when to deliver the artwork based on whether or not the buyer is known to the artist. The artist will then pay the St. Clair Gallery the commission. Art is sold for the price on the Title Card, no tax is added. Artists shall price work to include all expenses, including taxes, which are the responsibility of the artist to report and pay.

The Gallery Director will work out any difficult times or dates

with the artists.

The East County Business Center and the St. Clair Gallery

reserves the right to refuse any entry.

Inquires should be directed to the Gallery Director, Howard
